It’s more than a feeling…

Yesterday later in the afternoon Momma and I decided that I needed to go to the Urgent Care clinic. I wasn’t feeling very good. All of 15 minutes later I walked out of the clinic with a shot of Prednisone in the hip, a script for more Prednisone, a script for Levaquin and a script for cough syrup with Codeine. I have Bronchitis. He said ti sounded like I had rice krispies crackling in the lower left lung. I’m not really shocked, I’ve been feeling punk for about 2 weeks.

Today I’ve been laying low and just crocheting and trying to get better for tomorrow. Tomorrow at 1pm we’ll go to the Visitation and the at 2pm we’ll go to the Funeral. I’m going to be there to help the family say good by to a good man.

Grandpa did not graduate from high school. He joined the Army and spent 2 years in the front lines of Korea. He had many sad and frightening stories about what happened on the front lines of that war. He was a very hands on man. He built the house that he died in. He also build the house next door, when he was married to my grandpa and where mom and the aunts and uncles grew up. He was also a Union man. He worked the Factory line at Fischer Body that then became a GM subsidiary. He was the most practical man I knew. He knew how to fix anything and did so with out so much as a blink. He liked to teach you what to do, rather than doing it for you, so that you too could be practical and self sufficient. Papa is just like him in that respect, too. They seemed to be very much a like in many areas, which is why I love him like I love papa.

I am off to bed, having taken the cough syrup and am in need of about 12 hours of sleep. Again, my true friends, as you are a truer friend than many of my real life friends, thank you for making me feel special and strong. You all help me make it through the tough times with kind, heart felt words.

With Love,

Once again, you and yours have my sympathy. I am very glad to read that you have taken care of yourself. That is a necessity if you even want to be there, let alone being there for everyone else. Plenty of rest, lots of fluids, and chicken soup. The liquids help replace the tears.Peace, Doc

Hey Fizz, I hope the shot and other meds do their job quickly and you feel better soon. It is not too good when you’re sick yourself and still have loved ones to take care of. We work through it somehow though, so I’m praying for you and the family. I love the memories you shared about papa and/or grandpa. Thanks for sharing. I will see you again soon.

You’re a trooper my friend but it seems that runs in the family. I pray that you quickly recover and I know that the funeral will be something that wouldn’t be too much for you because you surely know where your grandpa is. All my blessings to you my friend, God bless and keep you as well.
