“Ike”

I decided that it was about time that I finally got around to talking about Ike and how it impacted me. To say that it was remotely easy would be ludicrous and to say that it was a test and an endurance would be an understatement.

This was the scariest thing I’ve ever lived through. It’s amazing how truly horrible it is. You know it’s coming, it takes about 2 days to get here. You’re under complete terror for 17 hours and then you spend the next 10 days with no power in 95 degree heat and trying to pick up the pieces.

As I said to papa the day after the hurricane… “How about we never do that again, ok?”
