The last two weeks have been really hectic. We’ve been having new siding put on the house. We went from regular wood and brick to Hardiplank.
The transformation has been amazing. Not just visually, but also temperature wise inside the house. There are no more drafts. The house stays warmer longer. I can actually feel the heat radiating off the fire place when there’s a fire going. It’s amazing.
Here are a few pictures of the transformation, if you would like’ to see the whole thing, I’ll give you a link to the online to see too.
In the beginning, the house looked neat, but a little sad and used
Then, they ripped all the old wood off the side and showed her bare bones:
Then they added plastic sheeting:
Then they put on an extra layer, which I think is called Solar Board, which I don’t have a photo of to show you.
The Hardiplank goes on… it’s ‘raw’ in that the boards have not yet been painted:
The last step is painting. Some people choose not to paint (it saves money) but for us, this gray just doesn’t go with our roof shingle color and the trim of everything else. So… we opted for painting the Hardiplank and the trim.
And Viola! This is the final results!!
So… that’s what I’ve been doing these last weeks. The house is now complete and she looks great! Very Snazzy!
Also, I’m getting prepared for the holidays. I’ve been wrapping gifts and getting presents packaged to be mailed. I’m even mailing gifts ahead of me when I go to Florida. It’s so much easier than trying to pack them into my suitcase and take them on the airplane (especially with the $$ per checked bag when you fly).
Talk to you soon, when I have a new adventure! (I will, after all I”m going to Florida on Dec 27!!)
