Interesting things in Google Earth that WEREN’T intended!

OK… so since we lost power because of a blown transformer and the only thing to do now that the power is back is surf the web… well I noticed a neat little “friend” in Google Earth just off the Outer Banks, NC. See below:

FighterPlanes_In_GoogleEarth

They are flying 0.41 miles apart, BTW.

If you’d like to go find them in Google Earth, here are the coordinates:

1st one is @ Lat = 35.738307 Long = -75.495965
2nd one is to the SE @ Lat = 35.737421 Long = -75.488674

Anyway… I’m proud of my little finding, so I thought I’d show off to you.

I slept most of the weekend away. Just haven’t felt good for the last couple of days. I think I’ve been eating too much crap… my body revolts when I eat too much junk. Since the power was out, I went out with my dear friend and we had good food. I had a prime rib and rice, two things that will help me start feeling better. Red Meat always does.

We had a nice long lunch & talk & made it back just 10 minutes after the power was turned back on. We’re lucky like that!!

Have yourself a great day!!

I love Google Earth. I was really surprised to see our cabin on street view. It was captured on a cloudy day in the fall. Funny thing though, when our road meets with the state highway to the west it’s a sunny summer day over there. Take a look at Lake Superior some time and see all the big ships out there. Cool.

To be precise they are E model Super Hornets based out of Naval Air Station Ocean in Virginia Beach. There is a close up of the underside of one of these in my Air Power album that I shot from the boardwalk when I was home in December. He passed low enough overhead that if his gear was down he would have parked on the roof of one of the hotels.

HI.. hope your weather is calmed down some we had pretty violent stuff last night and more today. No power trouble yet though. People always tend to leave home or work when the power is off ..everything is so power related these days that they are BORED staying indoors. It sure is quiet too when the power drops off the grid. THINK Ca is due for another quake soon? I sure was not too shocked to see that 7.2 at all but the place it was located now that was kinda shocking. I figured more north.. ANyway hope your day is a good one. : )
