It’s Positive…

So there it is. I got the call back from my DR this morning. I have the H. Pylori virus, an article here is really good: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helicobacter_pylori. The amount of pills I have to take for 2 weeks is ridiculous.  However, I’ve been assured that this will solve the problem.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading up on this stuff, and I’m at a loss for how I got it. There seems to be a lot of things like a cleanliness factor. While I am a super clean person, and very big on washing my hands, others aren’t. I could have easily have gotten this from a waiter whom didn’t wash their hands. I could have gotten this from being near someone who had it and their spit came my way. I could have gotten this from infected water or milk.

A big infector, though, in this article http://epirev.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/reprint/22/2/283, is the common house fly. We have some house flies, because we have a doggie door. I’ll bet that is where I’ve transmitted this from. It makes perfect sense.

I almost feel ashamed. This isn’t something someone should get in today’s day and age. I’m glad I caught it, though, because leaving it undetected could result in Stomach Cancer, it not a great chance, but it’s a chance. So, if you have it, you should try to get it cleared up.

Off to work and then off to get all of my prescriptions.

I promise you my sweet one – this too shall pass. Mine has. Healing was a hassle but so worth the effort and frusteration. The inconvience of clock watching for med times made me more aware of how much i was actually doing in a day. Sure some of the days went very slowly – but those are the days God let me be the most productive! And as far as the aweful taste in your mouth? Jolly ranchers hard candies sure did the trick for that.

I had that virus. It was discovered when I had ulcers. I took the antibiotic and it cleared it up. You will find the antibitotic leaves the most awful taste in your mouth. I thought I would never get that taste out of my mouth. Maybe they use a different antibiotic now. Let us know. Good luck!!

Well, glad to hear that what you have is treatable. I shudder to think of wait staff not washing their hands but we both know that happens! Take care of yourself. Hugs
