Finally… I can speak my mind!

I’ve been waiting for several
weeks to determine if the management complex was going to invite me to leave a
review. I found out after my stay that I could only leave a review upon
invitation. So this morning, I was happily surprised when the Invitation and
here is what I wrote

The Condo was beautiful, one
of the best ones I’ve stayed at in this area. The location was excellent, right
on the beach. However, the Condo was under construction on the exterior. We were
not notified of the construction upon check in on Saturday and 7am Monday
morning the construction crew starting banging so hard that the whole building
shook. They were using a Jack hammer‼

We were offered the
opportunity to move to a different property, for a fee, and after we’d been
staying for 2 days. Why should I have to pay a fee to move? Management should
have let us know about the construction before we arrived or upon check in.
Management also should have given us a percentage of our money back for the
inconvenience. They’re marketing a quiet, relaxing vacation on a beautiful beach
and they completely failed to follow through.

We decided not to move, as
this Condo was specifically rented because it was a corner unit. Plus, my health
isn’t up to lugging things in and out over and over again. Since we weren’t
moving, we insisted that the noise be kept to a minimum before 9am so that the
guests could get some sleep. The construction crew did eventually keep the noise
to a minimum before 9am, but we were unable to open any of the windows because
of plastic put over the top of them. We were unable to keep many of the blinds
open during the day, as well, because of construction crews hanging out the
window or even on the porch of the property while we were using it.

Additionally, The master bath
does not have a door on it, so if you’re sharing the master suite with another
couple (because of the dual king sized beds), be aware that there is no door and
so everything that is done in the bathroom can be heard throughout the master
bedroom.

If you look at the bath tub
where there is a seam with the shower shell, there is mould build up. It’s
either a problem that’s continuous or the cleaners aren’t getting the tub as
spotless as they should be. Either way, it’s off putting, too.

Speaking to the head of
housekeeping was frightening. She was gruff, impersonal and swore like a sailor
right in front of us. She treated us with the concern and compassion of a prison
warden. This woman should be kept away from the public, she just has no idea how
to behave in front of guests.

All in all, I’ll be staying
at this property again in the fall, but will be staying in a different suite and
with a different management company. This management company doesn’t seem to
care about the clients. Rather it’s the bottom line is what’s important to
them.

I’ve just recovered from a
stint with the “Normal” flu, thanks to Papa who gave it to me when he didn’t
have it that bad. He gets sick, he can brush it off in a day. I get sick, I’m
down for 5 days. I could barely eat Thursday, not at all Friday, and wee bits on
Sat and Sunday. I am sticking with soup at lunch just to make sure.

I’m just not good at being a
sick person! I wanna be babied and Papa just doesn’t do it so well! 😉

You sound like my husband. He has got to be the biggest baby ever when he gets sick. I just want to leave and get WAAAAAAAAAY away. Glad to hear your feeling better and that wasn’t that piggy flu thingy. Sorry your vacation wasn’t all it could have been too. I think that’s why we have a camper. Sleep in my own bed every night with my own pillow. Can’t beat it.
