Sun down in Paris…

At work I use Google sidebar. It has a nifty little gadget that is a live webcam of the Eiffel Tower. I also visit the Eiffel Tower cam.

It seems silly but, looking at the Eiffel tower all day makes me feel like I might just be on vacation. It’s something that gets me thru the day. I have friends and colleagues who come in and ask, what’s the Eiffel look like now. Right now, it’s mostly cloudy and the sun is setting. They are further north on the globe, so the sun sets much earlier than here. Right now it’s 4:15 PM.

See for yourself:

So, for now, I’m in Paris and I’m just doing a little work from a nice Internet Cafe. Then, I’ll go back to wandering around and seeing Paris. The touristy one and the real one.

This is my "Calgon", it takes me away.

Too much sunshine gets on my nerves. (How I survive in Texas I do not know!) *I'm trying to remove swearing from my vocabulary (Good Luck!). *I'm the last single in my group of friends. The rest of the turn coats got married. *Sadly, the above friends are now procreating. Now the world will have yet more strange and twisted individuals that will have to go to an Engineering School to survive. *Yoopers do exist. Look on a map. *Marvin the Martian and I have a lot in common. We're both cranky when crossed and generally like our own way. *I will never be a model! (Thank god, that starvation stuff has GOT to be painful!!!). *I am not Fat! (Even though that little voice behind my right ear might tell me that every single day). *I am normal. Whatever that means! *Yes, you can be smart and not be a geek. *I've been told I'm not boring. We'll see. *Much to my irritation, I have been described as Eccentric. *I cannot spell! *Being Single is a frame of mind. *Who said life was fair?

I used to be into webcams and sites like this a lot.  I don’t know why I just sort of let it go.  You’re right that it can be a nice escape.  I found a site that has a lot of nature pictures and such from all over the world.  Seeing the various backgrounds that come up does the same thing for me.  I like beach ones when it’s cold and miserable out!

I love the different live cams.  Have you found one of Michigan so you can go back home when you get homesick?  Here’s one from Eagle Harbor on Lake Superior.

I’m trying to find the Sony Administrative HQ with Google Earth!  Heh heh.  *rubbing hands together in a sinister manner*  Seriously, Fizzony, it was my first choice brand until it pulled the rootkit trick twice.  I’m looking at three pieces of Sony equipment as I sit here and there are two more in the next room.  So my problem isn’t either with the quality of the equipment or the advances in technology, but it is with their business ethics.  Besides, I only own one (1) video DVD.Peace, Doc
